TLG Provides ASL Interpretation to Richmond SHRM’s 2023 Diversity & Inclusion Symposium
dedicated to the inherent value of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (I.D.E.A.).
Virginia Beach, VA – The Language Group (TLG) will provide a team of American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters to help facilitate communication for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing attendees of Richmond SHRM’s 2023 Diversity & Inclusion Symposium, being held on Thursday, May 18th at The Cultural Arts Center in Glen Allen, Virginia.
The theme of this year’s conference is Building a Culture of Accountability. “We thought it was only natural to provide ASL interpretation at an event dedicated to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility,” said Townley Goldsmith-Ray, Executive Director of Richmond SHRM. “We were thrilled when TLG, a Virginia-based company, approached us to offer their support and expertise.”
“What an honor and privilege it is to provide ASL interpretation services to Richmond SHRM in support of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communities,” said TLG’s Human Resources Director, Lorien Picou. “As a SHRM Certified Professional myself, it is extremely gratifying to see such an emphasis being placed on what we do every day here at TLG – providing access to people who are so often overlooked.”
TLG’s Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Giovanni Donatelli, added, “This is just the latest effort by TLG to bring the legal rights afforded to Deaf and Hard of Hearing people by the federal government to the forefront. Soon we will also sponsor CEU programs throughout Virginia designed to develop additional qualified ASL interpreters to help meet growing demand for this vital support.”
